Rivermont Midlothian Hosts VAISEF Celebration of Specialized Education School Week

On Friday, October 2, Rivermont Midlothian hosted members of the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities (VAISEF) and state education leaders for a celebration of Specialized Education School Week.
Attendees included Deputy Secretary of Education Dr. Abby Edwards, Anya Pfeiffer and Ren Spotts of the Virginia Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee, and members of the VAISEF Board of Directors.
During the event, VAISEF shared a letter from Governor Abigail D. Spanberger recognizing Specialized Education School Week and the important role specialized education schools play in supporting students across the Commonwealth. The letter highlighted the individualized instruction, dedicated educators, and specialized resources that help students build the skills and confidence to reach their potential.
“The Commonwealth is grateful for your service, advocacy, and dedication to ensuring that every Virginia student has the support and opportunity they need to succeed,” Governor Spanberger said in her letter.
Rivermont’s Midlothian school was honored to host the gathering and join VAISEF in recognizing the educators and professionals who support students with specialized learning needs throughout Virginia.
