Introducing Our 2024–2025 Virginia State of the State Report

Rivermont Schools, part of the New Story network, is proud to release the 2024–2025 State of the State Annual Report for Virginia. This snapshot shares how our Virginia schools and In-District programs are partnering with districts to deliver data-driven special education and therapeutic supports.
The report showcases Rivermont’s use of consistent assessment, shared outcome reporting, and a continuum of services to help students build skills and successfully transition to less restrictive settings whenever possible.
Highlights from this year’s report include:
- Partnering with 92 districts to support 1,031 students across 20 Rivermont schools and In-District programs in Virginia.
- Strong student results, including 93% attendance, 93% stronger progress toward IEP goals, and 107 students who graduated or returned to their home districts—with districts reporting 100% satisfaction.
