Rivermont Schools is excited to welcome the community to its brand-new Lynchburg Leesville campus with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The event will take place from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the official ribbon cutting scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at 742 Leesville Road in Lynchburg. 

The event marks the opening of a purpose-built school designed to serve students ages 5–22 who have autism, behavioral challenges, or other emotional or academic needs that make traditional learning environments difficult. The new location—formerly known as Rivermont Lynchburg North—will begin serving students for the 2025–2026 school year. 

Visitors to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will get a first look at the thoughtfully designed campus, which includes spacious classrooms, therapy and specialty rooms, a sensory room, and dedicated life skills spaces. The school also features an outdoor playground and recreational areas to support students’ social and physical development. 

The Lynchburg Leesville campus will be staffed by a team of professionals including special education teachers, mental health associates, behavior analysts, and a new full-time school nurse who will provide health and wellness support throughout the school day. 

Families, community members, and district partners are invited to tour the new facility, meet school leadership, and learn more about Rivermont’s individualized approach to education and enrollment opportunities.
